Here at Victoria Green, we're always researching new ways to improve our environmental impact, especially when it comes to using plastics. We're proud to tell you that in 2019 we dramatically reduced the amount of single use plastic we use by 60%.
Our 2019 collection is packed with recyclable cardboard fillers rather than plastic stuffing. The cardboard does exactly the same job, only in a more eco friendly way - filling out your beauty bag to keep the shape.
Our wash bags have always been 100% phthalate free, vegan, and designed to look good for years on end. We are great believers in eco friendly design, slow fashion and looking after what you have, which is why our bags are so robust.
However, although we've taken great steps, we can still do more to be environmentally friendly, which is why we're exploring sustainable and recycled materials such as cork leathers and piñatex - fabric made from pineapple fibres. More research needs to be done, as any new fabric we introduce has to be genuinely eco friendly, and this is much more complicated than it sounds! But we hope to create a small range from these environmentally friendly materials in 2021.
We are also incredibly excited to be talking to UK manufacturers about the possibility of producing some of our range right here in England. Making a business more sustainable is more than just using eco friendly materials, it's also about the whole process - cutting down waste, stock control, reducing returns, managing the logistics better. We think that working with UK manufacturers will help us to manage all of this.
